About “Feeds”

I got a good question yesterday as I was introducing Bloglines. It was, “What is a ‘feed’?” Here is a brief answer from the Wikipedia entry on web feeds:

“A web feed is a data format used for serving users frequently updated content. Content distributors syndicate a web feed, thereby allowing users to subscribe to it. Making a collection of web feeds accessible in one spot is known as aggregation.”

We will discuss this more in class.

  1. Well…I have a feed on my blog on wordpress, but I have another blog on my own web site, using the wordpress software.

Is there a way to turn my blog on my own site into a feed?

  2. I would ask at the forums available at WordPress.org and Bloglines.com
